Reynolds Debuts New Landscape Exhibit, Native American Powwow Book

For the first time, Sue Reynolds debuts a Diablo-only exhibit at Lindsay Wildlife Museum, from September 19th through February 28th, 2008. “Mt. Diablo: A Personal View” includes nearly 30 photos -- most of them new. It also ties the photographer’s evocative images with the museum’s new California Indian life and culture show.

At an Artist’s Reception on October 27th from 4 to 5:30pm, Reynolds will give a slide lecture and tour of her images. On November 23rd she will sign copies of her two limited edition books: 2006’s popular “Revealing Nature’s Mysteries” and a new volume celebrating contemporary Native American powwows. The events are free with museum admission. To RSVP for the reception, call 925-935-1978. See the museum’s web site for directions, hours and event details: Lindsay Wildlife Museum.

Recently returned from photographing Native American celebrations in Montana for her new book, Reynolds says, “The natives I photograph show a connection to the environment around them, reflecting their landscape. When all people appreciate nature, that’s an important source of strength in today’s hyper-speed world.”
